For the Chicken:
- 500 grams chicken boneless or with bone, cut into medium pieces
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons oil
For the Sambal Sauce:
- 3 tablespoons sambal paste store-bought or homemade
- 1 medium onion finely chopped
- 4 garlic cloves minced
- 1 teaspoon ginger grated
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 2 tablespoons tomato sauce
- ½ cup water
- Salt as needed
Step 1: Marinate the Chicken
Step 3: Prepare the Sambal Base
In the same pan, add a little more oil if needed. Add chopped onion and cook until soft.
Now add garlic and ginger. Cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
