Equipment

  • 1 Frying pan or non-stick pan
  • 2 Pressure cooker or deep pot
  • 3 Knife and chopping board
  • 4 Mixing bowls
  • 5 Spatula or wooden spoon
  • 6 Measuring Spoons
  • 7 Gas stove or induction cooktop

Ingredients

  • 500 grams chicken boneless or with bone
  • 2 medium onions finely chopped
  • 2 tomatoes chopped or pureed
  • 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
  • 2 tablespoons oil or butter
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • Salt as per taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish
  • 1/2 cup curd optional, for gravy
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Chicken

  • Wash the chicken properly and keep it aside. If you have time, marinate it with a little salt, turmeric, and curd for 15–20 minutes. This makes it softer and more flavorful.

Step 2: Heat the Oil

  • Take a pan and heat oil or butter. Add cumin seeds and let them crackle — this step adds a nice aroma.

Step 3: Cook the Onions

  • Add chopped onions and cook until they turn golden brown. Don’t rush this step… this is where the base flavor builds.

Step 4: Add Ginger-Garlic Paste

  • Now add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for a minute. You’ll notice that strong smell — that’s when you know it’s cooking properly.

Step 5: Add Tomatoes & Spices

  • Add tomatoes, turmeric, chili powder, and salt. Cook until the oil starts separating. This step might take a few minutes… but it’s worth it.

Step 6: Add Chicken

  • Now add the chicken pieces and mix well so they are coated with the masala.

Step 7: Cook Properly

  • Cover the pan and let it cook on medium flame for 15–20 minutes. Stir occasionally.

Step 8: Final Touch

  • Add garam masala and garnish with coriander leaves. And… done!
  • See? That wasn’t complicated at all. That’s why these are called Easy Chicken Dinner Recipes — simple steps, big flavor.

Notes

For best results, always use fresh chicken and avoid overcooking, as it can make the meat dry and tough. If you want more flavor, marinate the chicken for at least 20–30 minutes before cooking. Adjust spices according to your taste — you can make it mild or spicy as you like. Use low to medium flame while cooking to ensure the chicken cooks evenly from inside. Adding a little butter at the end gives a rich taste. Also, let the dish rest for 5 minutes before serving… it helps the flavors settle better.
