Step 3: Add Spices
Now add chili powder, smoked paprika, cumin, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Mix well. Cook the spices with meat for 1–2 minutes. This step makes the flavor stronger.
Step 4: Add Tomatoes and Beans
Step 5: Add Supercharged Ingredients
Add cocoa powder, brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce. These ingredients give the chili a deep, rich, and slightly sweet balance.
Do not worry — cocoa powder will not make it sweet. It makes the flavor deeper and richer.
Step 6: Add Broth and Simmer
Pour beef broth into the pot. Stir well. Bring to a light boil, then reduce heat to low.
Cover the pot and let it simmer for at least 30–40 minutes. If you have time, cook for 1 hour. Stir occasionally.
